Christmas Dinner at Whiteface Lodge
Guest will be thankful to leave the holiday dining prep to the chefs at Lake Placid’s Whiteface Lodge this year. Nestled in the soon-to-be-filled snowcapped Adirondack Mountains, the all-suite luxury resort’s onsite restaurant Kanu is getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year by debuting two festive dining menus to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas, along with offering a Thanksgiving To-Go menu package for those planning to take advantage of the in room kitchen and dining areas. Brimming with festive holiday décor, the resort is also now serving tasty seasons cocktails, including Toasted Bananas Foster and an Apple Jack Rose.
The Christmas feast on December 25 begins with a choice of Christmas terrine featuring country-style pate, figs, and brioche toast; smoked salmon giant blinis with grapefruit creme fraiche; or creamy onion soup. The main course offers guests a choice between tender veal chop with morel cream sauce and asparagus; black truffle pumpkin garganelli with whipped ricotta; or creamy scallop fricasse served with oyster mushrooms, vermouth, and fresh herbs. Guests can end the meal on a sweet note with choux a la creme, featuring a choux pastry with gingerbread and cream, along with coffee and vanilla ganache.
